Lymphedema is an accumulation of protein-rich fluid in the superficial tissues and has important pathological and clinical consequences for the patient if left untreated. Secondary lymphedema is often caused by trauma to the lymphatic system, such as surgery, injury, scarring, infection and radiation therapy. Post-mastectomy lymphedema of the upper extremity caused by breast cancer treatment is very common. Jackie is a graduate from Georgian College and University of Toronto, a registered massage therapist in good standing with CMTO and RMTAO, certified lymphedema therapist, certified compression garment specialist. She is certified in scar tissue and wound care management. Jackie is trained in the use of BioFlex laser, shockwave, targeted radio frequency therapy, SEQEX, BioCompression and CryoCompression, TENS and ultrasound. Jackie’s lymphedema and compression training are with Klose Training, the Academy of Lymphatic Studies, International Lymphedema and Wound Training Institute, Monarch Education, Dr. Vodder School - International (Vodder 1, 2, 3, lymphedema taping), and Upledger. Jackie is a certified compression fitter with Juzo, Medi, L&R and Jobst for all forms of compression garments. Constantly striving to provide excellence in treatment; Jackie has trained in advance lymphedema treatments, head and neck lymphatic treatment, post mastectomy and breast reconstruction treatment, wound care therapy, scar tissue management, post-surgery rehab, oncology massage, hospital massage treatment, and palliative hospice massage. She is a member of the Society for Oncology Massage, Lymphedema Association of Ontario, National Lymphedema Network, Lymphatic Education & Research Network, American Massage Therapy Association, and Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals.

She was nominated for the 2017 Premier’s Award for Outstanding Ontario College Graduates for her impact in her community, she is a Preferred Practitioner with the Society for Oncology Massage and received the RMTAO Certificate of Excellence in Orthopedic Assessment.
